Alphabet series – Acrylic on 10″ x 10″ aluminum

ILOVE EXPERIMENTING! I usually walk up and down the aisles of The Home Depot looking for inspiration and spotted a roll of aluminum and decided to experiment on it. I had no idea what I was going to create, but I jumped in. I scored and cut the aluminum into 10″ x 10″ squares, then I scratched it up with sandpaper. I intuitively rubbed acrylic paint using paper towels, then I etched each letter with a screwdriver.

Fun Facts:
1. I have always loved Erté’s Alphabet Series and wanted to create my own series.
2. The backwards “R” pays homage to Toys “R” Us.
